Maleah Joi Moon Makes Broadway Debut
The Tony Awards, Broadway's biggest night, were held on Sunday at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater in New York City. The ceremony, hosted by Ariana DeBose, saw "Stereophonics," a feuding-rock-band drama, emerge as the evening's top winner with five awards, including Best Play.
Among the other notable winners, Maleah Joi Moon made her Broadway debut in "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf," which won for Best Revival of a Play. A record-breaking 36 eligible musicals and plays opened on Broadway this season, making it one of the most competitive in recent history.
