Summer Game Fest 2024 kicks off with a bang
Alan Wake 2 and Monster Hunter Rise make a splash
Metaphor ReFantazio from the creators of Persona is also announced
The annual Summer Game Fest kicked off with a bang on Friday, June 7th, with Geoff Keighley hosting a presentation packed with new reveals and updates. One of the biggest announcements was the long-awaited reveal of Alan Wake 2, which is set to release in 2023. The game was first announced in 2021, but details have been scarce until now. Keighley also announced that Monster Hunter Rise would be coming to PlayStation and Xbox in 2023. The game was previously only available on Nintendo Switch.
In addition to these major announcements, Keighley also revealed a number of other new games, including Metaphor ReFantazio from the creators of Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. The game is set in a modern-day Tokyo where people can use their smartphones to summon demons. Keighley also announced a number of other new games, including a new entry in the Call of Duty franchise, a new Star Wars game, and a new game from Hideo Kojima.
