Tornado outbreak and flooding event in Tennessee and Mississippi
Deadly tornadoes and flash flooding reported
Nashville and Tupelo under tornado watch
A particularly dangerous tornado watch has been issued for Nashville, Tennessee, and Tupelo, Mississippi, until 1 a.m. CDT. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles east and west of a line from 80 miles south southwest of Nashville, Tennessee, to 15 miles east northeast of Tupelo, Mississippi.
Tornadoes have been confirmed by radar in Hendersonville, Dickson, and Mount Juliet, Tennessee, as a wall of storms hits the area. Flooding has also been reported in several areas, including Nashville and Dickson.
The National Weather Service is urging residents in the affected areas to take shelter immediately. If you are in a tornado warning, go to the lowest level of your home and stay away from windows.
